Who We Are
Onslow County Adaptive Sports & Recreation is an adaptive sports and recreation program with the goal of inspiring everyone to live an active lifestyle, however that may look. OCASR began with our founder coordinating wheelchair sports competitions at the Marine Corps’ Wounded Warrior Battalion, and after recognizing the physical and mental benefits it gave participants he made the decision to expand into the community.

Who We Help
OCASR is here to help anyone interested in getting involved in sports and recreation activities, but may need a bit of assistance. While we are here for anyone who can benefit from our help, our target audience is children and adults with disabilities, disabled veterans, and seniors.

What We Do
At OCASR, we provide adaptive sports coaching and resources to those who can benefit from them. After a quick intake session we’ll help identify participants’ sports and recreation interests and goals, and will help to connect participants with the right resources to get involved using our network of nonprofit organizations. We also have an organic adaptive cycling program with a small fleet of adaptive bicycles, recumbents, and handcycles designed to give participants an opportunity to try out equipment from the safety of the indoors, and are working to expand our program into other sports and activities.
